Features
F55, commonly associated with UNS S32760, is a super duplex stainless steel combining a mixed austenitic-ferritic microstructure with high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content. Copper and tungsten additions further contribute to its performance in demanding corrosive environments.
The alloy provides high mechanical strength together with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking. These characteristics make F55 particularly suitable for seawater, offshore, oil and gas, desalination and chemical-processing equipment.
F55 is available in a variety of product forms, including plate, bar, pipe, tube, forgings, flanges and fittings, allowing it to be used for both pressure-containing equipment and highly loaded structural components.
