Features
15-5 PH is a precipitation-hardening stainless steel designed to provide a combination of high strength, good corrosion resistance and excellent toughness. Its chromium-nickel-copper alloying system allows high mechanical properties to be developed through controlled precipitation-hardening heat treatments.
Compared with many conventional stainless steels, 15-5 PH provides substantially higher strength while retaining useful corrosion resistance and good dimensional stability. The material is particularly suitable for highly stressed components requiring a combination of strength, toughness and corrosion resistance.
15-5 PH is commonly supplied as bar, rod, plate, sheet, forgings and rings. Different aging conditions can be selected according to required strength, hardness and toughness levels.
