Features

Incoloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing molybdenum, copper and titanium, developed to provide excellent corrosion resistance in a wide variety of aggressive environments. Its balanced alloy composition provides resistance to both oxidizing and reducing conditions.

Nickel contributes strong resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, while molybdenum improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Copper provides particularly useful resistance to reducing acids such as sulfuric acid, while chromium improves performance in oxidizing environments.

Titanium stabilizes the alloy against sensitization and helps maintain resistance to intergranular attack after appropriate fabrication and heat treatment. These characteristics make Incoloy 825 particularly suitable for chemical-processing and acid-handling equipment.

Typical applications include sulfuric and phosphoric acid equipment, oil and gas production systems, acid gas wells, heat exchangers, marine components and pollution-control equipment.
