Features

Inconel 601 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy containing aluminum, developed primarily for applications requiring outstanding resistance to oxidation and other forms of high-temperature corrosion. The combination of nickel and chromium provides resistance to corrosive environments, while aluminum promotes the formation of a tightly adherent protective oxide layer.

A major characteristic of Inconel 601 is its excellent resistance to oxidation under cyclic high-temperature conditions. The alloy also offers good mechanical strength at elevated temperatures and resistance to carburizing conditions, making it particularly suitable for thermal-processing equipment and furnace components.

Inconel 601 is available in a wide range of product forms, including plate, sheet, strip, coil, bar, rod, pipe, tube, wire and forgings. It is commonly used where components must withstand prolonged exposure to heat and aggressive industrial atmospheres.
