Features

Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy known for its combination of high mechanical strength and outstanding corrosion resistance. Unlike many precipitation-hardening nickel alloys, its strength is primarily derived from solid-solution strengthening by molybdenum and niobium.

The alloy provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Its high nickel content provides resistance to many aggressive environments, while chromium and molybdenum enhance resistance to oxidizing and localized corrosion.

Inconel 625 also maintains useful mechanical properties across a broad temperature range and offers good fatigue strength and weldability. It is widely used in offshore, seawater, chemical-processing, aerospace, oil and gas, and pollution-control equipment.
