Features
Monel K-500 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance associated with Monel 400 with significantly higher strength and hardness. Additions of aluminum and titanium allow the alloy to develop increased mechanical properties through controlled age-hardening treatment.
The alloy retains good corrosion resistance in seawater and many chemical environments while providing improved tensile strength, yield strength and hardness. This combination makes it particularly suitable for components subjected to high mechanical loads in corrosive service.
Monel K-500 is commonly supplied as bar, rod, shaft material, wire, forgings, fasteners and machined components. Typical uses include marine shafts, pump components, valve parts, springs and oil and gas equipment requiring both corrosion resistance and high strength.
