Features
20# is a low-carbon high-quality structural steel widely used for seamless tubing, mechanical parts and general engineering components. Its controlled carbon content provides a useful balance of strength, toughness, ductility and processing performance.
The relatively low carbon content gives 20# good weldability and forming characteristics. It can be hot rolled, cold drawn, forged, normalized or annealed depending on the required product form, dimensions and final mechanical properties.
20# also offers good machinability and can be manufactured into shafts, sleeves, fittings, mechanical tubing and other components subjected to moderate mechanical loads. Appropriate heat treatment can further optimize its strength and toughness.
Typical applications include seamless pipes, boiler tubing, machinery components, shafts, pressure-related components and general structural parts requiring dependable performance and economical material selection.
