Features

316Ti is a titanium-stabilized chromium-nickel-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel developed for applications requiring corrosion resistance together with dependable performance during elevated-temperature exposure.

Titanium combines preferentially with carbon, helping reduce chromium carbide formation at grain boundaries. This stabilization improves resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly where components experience prolonged exposure within sensitization temperature ranges.

Molybdenum contributes to improved localized corrosion resistance, while the austenitic structure provides good toughness, ductility and fabrication characteristics. These properties make 316Ti useful where conventional 316-series corrosion resistance is required together with enhanced thermal stability.

Typical applications include heat exchangers, chemical-processing equipment, high-temperature piping, pressure vessels, petrochemical systems and other components exposed to corrosive media and elevated temperatures.
