Features

725LN is a high-alloy, nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel developed for applications requiring a combination of high mechanical strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Nitrogen contributes to strengthening while also improving resistance to localized corrosion.

The alloy is designed to perform well in aggressive chloride-containing environments where pitting, crevice corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking can limit the service life of conventional stainless steels.

Its combination of strength, toughness and corrosion resistance makes 725LN suitable for demanding chemical, marine and offshore equipment. Proper solution heat treatment is important for maintaining the desired austenitic microstructure and corrosion performance.

725LN can be supplied as plate, bar, tube, forgings and pressure-containing components for heat exchangers, process equipment, seawater systems and other highly corrosive industrial applications.
