28# is a specialized urea-grade stainless steel intended for components operating in severe corrosion conditions encountered during industrial urea production. It is particularly suited to equipment exposed to aggressive ammonium carbamate-containing process media.
The material is designed to maintain reliable corrosion performance under the elevated temperatures and pressures present in critical sections of urea plants. Careful control of chemical composition, microstructure and heat treatment is important for achieving consistent service performance.
Its combination of corrosion resistance and mechanical stability makes 28# suitable for pressure-containing components and fabricated equipment exposed to demanding urea-process conditions.
